The Challenge
The world's largest manufacturer, seller and distributor of beverages with more than 100 plants and 545 distribution centers worldwide needed a high availability solution for their SAP production landscape to meet the demand for guaranteed uptime. Any downtime would not only impact the integrated and interdependent functions within the business, but also with external vendors and suppliers. The challenge was to design and deploy a high availability solution in a Solaris/Veritas Cluster Server environment, that minimizes downtime and prevents termination of SAP transactions even in the case of a enqueue service failure.
The core SAP applications used by the customer include purchasing, shipping, invoicing, delivery, sales orders, production planning, supply chain management, customer relationship management, and business warehouse/analytics support.
