| Using a source landscape WFT created a completely new SAP Landscape solving the both the ABAP and JAVA conversion issues.
The Challenge
A specialty materials company, with annual sales revenue of more than US$8 billion, and a network of more than 100 manufacturing, technical research and customer service sites in more than 27 countries needed to redesign their SAP landscape due to increasing processing load and poor response times because of mergers and their sales growth. The customer also wanted to migrate from legacy systems for some of the applications to a new landscape. The challenge was to design and build a scalable SAP landscape that would accommodate even higher number of transactions and users with optimal response time to the end users.
The core SAP applications used by the customer include purchasing, shipping, invoicing, delivery, sales orders, production planning, supply chain management, customer relationship management, enterprise portal, and business warehouse/analytics support. The customer's SAP environment connects 9,000 external users (partners and vendors) through a company portal.
