A software development company chose WFT to design and implement a data replication/backup solution for SAP residing on FAS 3070 NetApp storage array. The existing integration partner was not able to integrate SAP split mirror backup solution with the underlying storage snapshot technology. The customer needed a working backup solution for SAP before going live.
The environment consisted of 4 SAP modules, and a bolt-on (Solution Manager, ECC, PI, EP, Vertex) each running on a dedicated Linux server with Oracle. A separate server was used for mounting of the replicas for backup and recovery operations. The customers configuration was not supported for the available NetApp solution, so a scripted solution was the only option, and this solution had to interface with SAP BRTOOLS.
